You can link in Canvas to a video that’s either in your personal Echo360 library or in an Echo360 collection
You can’t upload a video directly into an Echo360 collection.
If you want to link from Canvas to a video in an Echo360 collection, you must first upload the video to your personal Echo360 library, add this video to the collection, then link to the video from the collection.
For this reason, you can’t upload a video and link to it at the same time from anywhere else in Echo360 apart from your Echo360 personal library.

1. Navigate to a NIDA Canvas course that you want to add the video to

10. Click to select the video you want to link to

At this point you get to choose between embedding the video into the Canvas page or just creating a simple link to it on the page. Both options are described below

11. Go in your course page to where you want to add the video then click on Edit to display the text editor

12. As before, click in the editor where you want to add the video, then click on the Echo360 icon in the editor's toolbar

13. In the 'Library' tab on the pop-up that then appears, search for the existing video in Echo that you want to add to Canvas

14. Click on the 'Link' switch to turn it on

16. Click on the 'Insert' button

17. Your link will then be added. You can now change the title of the link if desired

18. To change the link title, click on the link and wait for the box to pop up

19. Then select 'Link Options' in the box

20. In the pop-out that then appears at the right, click in to the 'Text' box and type the new title

21. Click on 'Done' at the bottom of the pop-out

Click on the

video to test it. It should then open in a new tab in your browser, allowing you to play the video. Click to close the new tab to return to the main tab.
(If you see the ‘Not Yet Ready’ message, you will need to wait for Echo to process the video before it becomes playable. You can check if the processing has finished by refreshing the browser tab (hit the F5 key).)
