Notes specific to this workflow

  • This workflow covers creating a simple link to am Echo video as well as embedding an Echo video in Canvas

  • With this workflow you can link to both uploaded videos and videos recorded via Echo (ie webcam sessions)

  • You can link in Canvas to a video that’s either
    - in your personal Echo360 library or in an Echo360 collection
    - in a collection that you own or are a member of.

  • However when linking to a video in Canvas
    - you can’t search for videos by the collection they’re in, since collections are not shown when linking
    - you will be limited to searching individual videos by their title alone (; you can search for parts of this title)

  • You can’t upload a video directly into an Echo360 collection.
These are separate workflows. You can’t upload a video directly into an Echo360 collection.
This is because uploading a video and adding a video to a collection are separate processes in Echo.

So if you want to link from Canvas to a video and add it to an Echo collection, you can either
    - upload and link to the video at the same time (ie this workflow), then as a separate step add it to the collection, or
    - upload the video and add it to a collection, then as a separate step search for the video individually and link to the video.
