This workflow covers the steps required for a user to find any Echo classes attached to a course in Canvas. This will then allow the user to see the names of any videos in those classes so these can then be linked to from Canvas if needed.

This workflow is available to both staff and students.

The video that covers the same steps as the below can be found here:

[230121 YET TO BE RESOLVED

Not yet sure what the advantage is in adding videos to classes except to keep a record of which videos are related to the Canvas course that’s attached to the section that the classes are in. In other words, at the moment the only advantage appears to be that you can keep tabs on which videos are related to a given Canvas course, but this seems to provide no advantage in terms of making it easier to link to videos from Canvas

For this reason, since there appears to be no link between adding videos to classes and being able to then link the videos in these classes to a Canvas course, the only additional workflow steps I can add at this point is to describe an alternative method of creating simple links and embed codes for a video that the methods described in the other workflows. This alternative method is:

  • Go to the user’s Echo library via the ‘My Echo360 Library’ screen on any Canvas page. In the Library tab on this screen, open the Media dropdown if necessary so that the video thumbnails can be seen. Click on the three dots to the bottom right of a video and select Share then select the ‘Link’ tab to start sharing via a link. Then follow the options on the Link tab to create either a simple link or get embed code to paste into the Canvas page’s html]
