Notes specific to this workflow

  • This workflow is not likely to be used much but is provided in case it’s required. It covers how to both

    • find the Canvas course number that a particular Echo section is linked to in Echo’s Course-Section-Class hierarchy, and

    • find and add users to an Echo section

  • Knowing the Canvas course number is useful if Canvas courses have the same or similar names and you want to make sure you are either

    • adding videos to classes for the correct Echo section tied to a Canvas course you are working on, or

    • linking to a Canvas course from the correct Echo section

This is because Echo sections have been named after the equivalent Canvas course in order to minimise error when adding, removing or linking content.

Example Echo sections related to previous Canvas courses:

...

  • Knowing and adding to the the users enrolled in a section is useful if you want to change these enrolments so Echo more accurately caters for the staff involved in a given Canvas course

  • You can see a list of Echo sections (ie Echo equivalents of Canvas courses) by viewing the ‘Courses’ tab after clicking on the ‘My Echo360 Library’ link in the blue menu shown to the left of any Canvas course

  • For how to find a list of Echo classes in an Echo section linked to a specific Canvas course, see workflow C.3. Finding a video in an Echo class

  • For the diagram of the course-section-class hierarchy, click this link

[230123 This workflow needs to cover both how to find out the course number in Canvas that a particular Echo section is linked to, as well as how to view lists of all videos that were migrated from Studio for a specific Canvas course, ie how to view the Echo class list for a given Echo section]

...

This can be useful if it’s not clear to staff which Echo section they should be adding classes to, for example when the Canvas course names are similar or the same (eg 2021 ACT7201A). This happens because Echo section names copy the name of the related course in Canvas, and sometimes these Canvas course names can be similar or the same
