Tech Ops Gear requests for students
If you need AV equipment for a project, production, class or assignment etc. We need 7 days' notice for any gear to be given out. Please send an email to the helpdesk via help.techops@nida.edu.au including the following info:
A list of gear you would like to borrow.
Where is the gear going?
Is the gear going to be used offsite, outside of the NIDA Kensington Campus?
Who will be using the gear? e.g. student or staff or external creative.
What project, production, or assignment is the gear being used for?
How long you would like to borrow the gear for, start and return date/time.
After Confirming with the Tech Ops department via the helpdesk, you will be sent a calendar invite with a time and location to pick up the requested equipment.
If there is less than 7 days' notice, we will try to accommodate your late requests, but we may not be able to.
Gear Returns
When returning the gear please notify us of anything that has broken or isn't working the way it should by following the Broken Equipment Procedure.
If there needs to be a change to the booking, let Tech Ops know immediately to see if the requested change can be made.
High Risk Work
For certain activities that occur around NIDA, a Tech Ops Staff member must be present.
These activities include:
Counterweight Fly Reweighing (Parade Theatre & Reg Grundy Studio)
Moving of the Orchestra Pit & Sound Wall (Parade Theatre)
Movement of the Trusses in the Parade Theatre, Atrium and Foyer
Venue Safety Inspections
