Notes specific to this workflow

  • When you are searching for videos to add to a collection on the ‘My Echo360 Library’ screen, collections can be seen in both the Library and Collections tabs but individual videos can only be seen in the Library tab.

  • You can add videos to a collection either by selecting videos already in your Echo library, or by uploading videos directly into an Echo collection. (If using the latter option, the videos are also added to your library.)

WORKFLOW

1. Go to a Canvas course page

2. Open the ‘My Echo360 Library’ screen off the blue menu to the left

3. NOW CLICK ONE OF THE FOLLOWING LINKS TO SELECT A WORKFLOW PATH:

A. Add an existing video into a collection
B. Upload a video into a collection

A. Add an existing video into a collection

This workflow assumes that the collection you will add the video to has already been created. If you need steps to create a collection, see D.1. Create an Echo collection.

You can add an existing video either by opening the collection and selecting the +Add Media button, or by searching for a video then selecting Add To Collection. This workflow shows the steps for the first of these options because it allows you to add more than one video at a time.

4. Select the Collections tab if you are not already on this tab in the ‘My Echo360 Library’ screen

5. Use the view options button to select the List View to give yourself more screen room if needed

6. If needed, you can search your existing collections by name. Type in part of the title of the collection you would like to find. Any matching collections are then shown

7. Select the collection you would like to add the video/s to, and in the collection’s screen make sure you are in the Media section

8. Click on the + Add Media button and check that you are in the ‘Import From Your library’ tab in the Add Media pop-up

9. If needed, enter part of the title of the video/s you would like to add to the collection. Matching videos are then shown, and the number of matches is listed at the right

10. If needed, use the check boxes to the left of the videos shown to select the ones you want. Else if you want to select just one video, click on it

11. Click on the Done button when selection is finished. The added videos are then shown in the collection. You can then sort all the videos in the collection by Name, Date Created or Order Added

9. Click on the Upload Media icon to be taken to the file selection pop-up

10a. If the file you want to load is in a Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or Box account, select the relevant icon from the left of the upload popup.

10b. Otherwise, if the file is stored in a location available on your local device or computer, click on ‘Select Files to Upload’ option

11. If selecting locally, browse to the file, select it and click to upload it. You should be able to upload more than one file at this point by selecting each of them.

16. You can click on the 'Sort by' dropdown to sort your videos by Date Created, Name or Order Added. The arrow to the right of the dropdown will then change the sort order for the option selected.
