Connecting to Nconnect wifi
Follow the steps below to be able to connect to Nconnect and access the internet.
To use Nconnect, you need to already have a NIDA account and email address such as john.smith@nida.edu.au, john.smith@student.nida.edu.au or josmith.staff@nida.edu.au.
(If you don’t have a NIDA account, you can use the guest wifi network Nguest.)
The steps to access Nconnect are different depending on what device you’re using. See the separate steps below for laptops, Android devices/phones, and iPhones.
Laptops
Turn on wifi on your device
Select the Nconnect wifi network
Enter your first and lastname as firstname.lastname
This will usually be the same as listed in your NIDA email address.
For example use john.smith if your email is john.smith@nida.edu.auEnter the password that goes with your NIDA account.
Accept the NIDA certificate.
Enjoy the wifi
Android devices eg phones
Turn on wifi on your device
Select the Nconnect wifi network
A box should pop up.
In this box, for the Identity field enter your first and lastname as firstname.lastname
This will usually be the same as listed in your NIDA email address.
For example use john.smith if your email is john.smith@nida.edu.auEnter the password that goes with your NIDA account.
Ensure the CA Certificate field is selected as ‘Don’t validate'
Ensure the EAP method is selected as ‘PEAP’
Click Connect to join the network
Enjoy the wifi
iPhones
Turn on wifi on your iPhone
Select the Nconnect wifi network
Select ‘Join this network’
Enter your first and lastname as firstname.lastname
This will usually be the same as listed in your NIDA email address.
For example use john.smith if your email is john.smith@nida.edu.auEnter the password that goes with your NIDA account.
Select ‘Trust’ when prompted with the certificate
Enjoy the wifi
