This workflow is available to both staff and students.

The video that covers the same steps as the below can be found here

Notes specific to this workflow

  • You can upload more than one video at a time using this workflow.

  • In contrast, if you want to upload a video to Echo360 and link to it from Canvas at the same time, you can only do this one video at a time. See workflow A.3/C.1.for this.

WORKFLOW

1. Go to any course in your Canvas login

2. On the course page, click on the ‘My Echo360 Library’ link in the blue course menu. (If this link is not shown, it will need to be enabled from the Navigation tab in the course’s Settings screen.)

3. On the ‘My Echo360 Library’ screen, click on the ‘Create' button and select the 'Upload media’ option

4. In the pop-up that then appears, you need to select where you will be uploading your content from. To upload directly from your device or computer, click on ‘Select Video Files to Upload' or ‘Select Files to Upload’

5. (If you will be uploading from a cloud location like Box, Dropbox or OneDrive, move your mouse over the left side of the pop-up and click on the desired location. Then select the file to be uploaded.

(In some browsers, you may have to click on the hamburger menu at the top left of the pop-up to show this side pane.)

((If you will be uploading from a cloud location like Box, Dropbox or OneDrive, click on the hamburger menu at the top left of the pop-up then click on the desired location)

6. If you are uploading directly from your device or computer, select the video file to be uploaded

Select the video file to be uploaded

7. Once selected, you are presented with a selection summary screen

8. If the selection is correct, click on the 'Upload' button at the bottom right

9. Once your upload is complete, click on the 'Close' button

10. You should now be shown the ‘Library' tab in the pop-up, and your new upload should show at the top of the list of videos in the Media section of this tab.
Depending on how large your video is, the video status may show for a while as ‘Processing’

(If your new video doesn't show you can search for it using the Search box. Searching only works if you start typing from the beginning of the title. Echo won't find your video if you start with the middle or end of the title.)

Otherwise, if you can see the video listed under the 'Library' tab in the pop-up, then it's been successfully saved in your personal Echo library...
